It is picturesque and green especially in spring and summer. Our river Yuzhniy Bug divides the city into two parts. There are many big and small restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs here.

Vinnitsa is also associated with the name of Nikolay Ivanovich Pirogov, a great Russian surgeon, who was the founder of the military field surgeon and spent his last twenty years in his estate not far from Vinnitsa. Now we have his house-museum there as well as his mausoleum. The name of N.I.Pirogov has been given to the Vinnitsa State Medical University.
